Rawtopia Restaurant is the only raw food bar in Salt Lake City, Utah and is located a few minutes from downtown in the Sugarhouse area. They are committed to supporting sustainable/organic agricultural practices.
“Our mission is to feed you nutrient rich
organic foods, leaving your
body, mind, and soul feeling satiated
with health and vigor.”
I had the privilege of eating at the Rawtopia Restaurant about a month ago and let me tell you, if you have not been there yet then you are missing out! First of all, I just love the Sugarhouse area in Salt Lake City, a very happening artsy area for the modern hipster and the location of the restaurant totally fits the vibe and energy there. The food is as the name of the restaurant states, everything is RAW! The flavors are mostly Mediterranean and everything is fresh and super tasty.
Owner Omar is a delight and so fun to work with. He is originally from the Druze Tribe in Lebanon and raised in Ghana/Nigeria, west Africa, and Lebanon and has been in Utah since the age of 18. He makes all his curry spice mixes himself having learned from family and friends growing up. He personally knows the benefits of eating raw, having gone 100% raw over 7 years ago. He is also a big believer in living in a sustainable healthy way, eating whole foods and what the current environment gives you. The amount of energy and overall wellness that he felt when he switched to a raw food diet was an indication that he needed to start an organic raw food bar thus, Rawtopia was born.
Below are the different dishes that I indulged on. I loved every single one of them and can’t wait to go back and try some of the others! I don’t eat an all raw diet but I do eat very clean and the food at Rawtopia definitely filled me up while giving me energy without weighing me down like some meals can do. The flavors were amazing and I didn’t miss the fact that there was no meat in any of the dishes.

Rawtopia is looking to expanding packaged raw food goods for distribution, and is also looking for a new location for the restaurant with the addition of a few cooked food items (world ethnic dishes) to create a bridge for people that are horrified by the idea of raw food. He even has fresh roses on the table to greet you, how is that for good service! Owner Omar is pictured below, now just look at that sweet face! Go give him some love if you haven’t already been to Rawtopia, you won’t regret it!
